Windows 7 - Why does iTunes automatically adjust my laptop LCD to max 100% brightness?

As soon as I open iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop (two different machines), iTunes automatically adjusts my screen brightness to max. (100%) How can I get iTunes to stop doing this? Every time I open iTunes, I have to manually turn down the brightness by using the hotkeys (fn) on my keyboard. It's a total pain. What's more interesting, if I close iTunes, the brightness automatically reverts back to my original "default" setting which is about 70%. I have looked all over the Internet and cannot find an answer.

null-OTHER, Windows 7
