Converting old iMovie project via iMovie 6 to QTime

When I open the old project into iMovie 6 (that process converts it into an iMovie 6 project), it plays perfectly in the iMovie window, but when it is 'shared' to full quality QTime it compresses the vertical aspect so that round objects become slightly oval.

If I share just a few clips it produces the correct aspect, but when I do the complete conversion (about 13 minutes of video) it compresses it.

Can anyone offer a solution?

What version of iMovie produced "the old project"?

Hi Surrey… It was probably about iMovie 3, as it was a video of a 1992 China trip! All of the media etc was in a normal folder rather than the 'package' of later versions.
