Interesting little problem with a Razer Kraken USB

I found an interesting problem with my new headset, when I play music or game sound it comes through my headphones, however when I do something like drag an item to the trash or use an application like photobooth the sound comes through the built in speakers. I decided to rather then brave the chaos that is the Razer costumer support I would ask you all.
