Long delay between each printed copy of same page

My Samsung printer used to print extremely fast but since I got my new iMac there is a pause of nearly a minute between each copy of the same page when printing. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Samsung make more than one printer. Which model are you using and how is it connected to you Mac?

First thing to try is go to:

System Preference > Printers & Scanners

and delete your printer and then set it up again. If that doesn't work you need to check the Samsung website for driver updates.

Hi, sorry it's the ML-2850. Worked great before I got the new iMac. Used it on an old iMac and a PC without any problems. thanks.

Hi, sorry it's the ML-2850 and is connected by USB, not over the network. I deleted it and added it again but no change. It worked great before I got the new iMac. Used it on an old iMac and a PC without any problems. thanks.

Do not delete it, uninstall any Samsun applications you have installed. Follow the instructions in Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system - Apple Support and then re-install per OS X Yosemite: Add or remove a printer

Hi, thanks for your reply. I actually stayed with Mavericks rather than install Yeosemite, would that make any difference to the steps you suggest or will they be the same.
