My iCloud storage was starting to get full so I decided to purchase some additional storage. I had 25GB of free storage (I don't know how), I thought another 20GB ($0.99 a option) would be enough. But instead of getting another 20GB, the 25GB I had vanished and now I only have 20GB! So I am paying for having 5GB less than I had before! Please help!

Free accounts have always been 5 GB's. There are no 25 GB plans.
The $.99 a month plan adds 15 GB's to the basic 5 GB plan. Total 20GB's.
I had 25GB before. Don't ask me how.
There never was a 25 GB plan or any option to buy such a number.
I never bought the 25GB, it was given to me for free. Maybe because I've had several devices associated with this account. I am not crazy, I had 25GB.
Apple doesn't give extra storage because you have more than one device.
Apple did give free storage sometime back during the migration from mobile me, but it was only for 12 months. perhaps your storage had been 5 GB for a while without you realising it or perhaps the extra free wasn't removed when it should have been, either way you aren't being charged for something that should be free.
Actually I did use to be a mobile me customer. I think that's why I had the 25GB. Thanks.
