What app are you using to transfer?

What interface are you using to transfer?

Have you checked Canon's website for driver updates?

Does your computer have an SD card slot? (if so, try and copy your photos that way)

Yes.  That camera is supported: OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support

Where are you trying to transfer them to?  An iPhoto library or a Photos library?

There have been many reports of cameras not being recognized by Photos or iPhoto after the Yosemite update.  The workaround is using a card reader or Image Capture to download to a folder on the Desktop and import from there.

Chattphotos, I was using the Canon app as  I have in the past and simply using the cable provided by Canon. The computer doesn't even see it Finder. When I go to the Canon driver site, it detects Yosemite and says there is nothing for it. On Apple, Os X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats, the T5i is not listed. The T6i is but not the T51.

Old Toad, I would be happy just getting the images onto my desktop.

I ask again, does your computer have an SD card slot? (if so, try and copy your photos that way)

The T6i is but not the T51.

Did you check the document carefully I posted the link to?

OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats

Learn which digital camera RAW formats are supported by OS X Yosemite.

Digital camera RAW formats retain more image information than JPEGs and can produce better results when used with Photos and other imaging applications.

OS X Yosemite provides system-level support for digital camera RAW formats from the following cameras.

Supported by Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.04

    Canon EOS 5DS*

    Canon EOS 5DS R*

    Canon EOS Rebel T6i / 750D / Kiss X8i

    Canon EOS Rebel T6s / 760D / Kiss 8000D

    This is what I get.

    Disconnect Camera from Mac

    Go to the Settings Menu

    Go to Communication

    Change Normal (PC) to PTP

    Reconnect Camera

if you don't see this on your camera call Canon's support

That's the ticket - called Canon Support. Should have done it days ago. Thanks Everyone for your help. Turns out it was a simple download under Canon Solutions software.
