I cannot video chat with a friend who has iChat and I'm on Messenger (Yosemite). It will not accept my password. I tried changing my password and it would not accept the new password. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try making Both AIM and or iCloud passwords the same and both being compliant with the Capital letter and number as a part of both passwords. Sign in as an AIM account but use iCloud credentials. Ideally don't use the same password for both but run to troubleshoot problem.

This will not work iMessages to AIM.
It has to be iMessages to iMessages, AIM to AIM Jabber to Jabber (which included Google) or Yahoo to Yahoo accounts.
However if you have an Apple issued ID ending in @mac.com or @me.com that is linked to iCloud or @iCloud .com then you can set that up as an AIM account in Messages.
