Can I make a collage of 4 or 5 photos in Photos? I used to do this a lot in iPhoto using the templates they provided and the results were great. Any advice would be very gratefully received! Thank you

No, there's no provision for collages in Photos. However, if you have Pages it's a great app for creating collages. Just drag the photos you want into the Pages layout, resize and put where you want it. Large collages like this 20 x 30 can be done with Pages:
Any 3rd party image editor that supports layers can be used also.

While I'm talking to you, can I ask you about slideshows in Photos? In iPhoto there were several transitions to choose from and I can't find any in Photos - is that the case?
