I'm on an intel imac Running 10.8.5. I partitioned the HD to add 10.6.8. I need to be able to use some of the apps that are on the 10.8 partition also on the 10.6. Is there an easier way to copy those apps to the other partition without having to reinstall all of them?

Use the applications you can from their existing location, and reinstall any which require system components.

I tried copying a few apps from 10.8 to 10.6. I then realized some wouldn't work because the 10.6 I installed needed to be updated to 10.6.8, which I'm doing now. However, the ones that did copy OK now require me to start all over with preferences, license keys, etc. That's why i wondered if there was an easy way to copy everything I need at once from one partition to another. Hope that makes sense.
All too many Apps today install components in multiple locations so you can seldom drag-n-drop app to another volume and have it work. As Neil says, you need to reinstall most.
Is there an easy way to copy some of the apps in one partition to another?
