Import photos or videos from Photos

I tried it and I can't drag a photo from Photos to FCP X it either; but at least the photos browser inside FCP X works perfectly and all the albums, moments, places, etc are accessible from there.

Have you ever dragged and dropped from Photos to FCP? In what version?

Can't drag from Photos into either 10.1.2 or 10.1.4. Sure you weren't thinking of iPhoto?

Works from iPhoto and Aperture.

iPhoto didn't even work that way. Photos works the same way as iPhoto and Aperture. You can access their Libraries from the Photo Browser, not from the Import window.

In the import window? How are you going to import from inside the Photos library bundle? It's a closed container. You got export the images from Photos and import that, but it seems a long way around, though you may have more control over the image that way.

Neither iphoto nor photos ever worked like that. They worked and still work just as Tom and Ben said.

For cons, I tell you, I already drag and drop medias directly from Photos to a FCPX event in the past.

Dragging and dropping is one thing. I did not question that, as it did work (and still works) with iPhoto, and Aperture.

Using the Import window as in your screenshot is another matter, and that was what I was saying that never worked with either iPhoto, Aperture or Photos.
