SOMEONE HELP

I updated my iPhone two days ago and when looking through my pictures I see have all pictures from 2013 deleted and a variety of pictures gone from 2014 and only a few in 2015 and I know there should be a lot more in that year. I'm confused as to what happened can any one help? was this caused from the update?
