Cannot restore my iphone - progress bar does not move

I have an Iphone 4s that does not turn on and proceeded as the support text If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. The iphone shows me the apple logo as well as the progress bar, but the progress bar does not move and the itunnes is saying me "waiting for iphone". Is the any other thing to do to recover my iphone ?
