Camera saving pictures in random spots

I was taking pictures and noticed they were not being saved to the pictures app. After resetting and backing up it still didn't work. Finally I noticed that they were saving, just not in the spot reserved for the last picture taken. the photos were saving in between other pictures a little further up from the bottom. Any ideas? I can't find a setting to change the save order. Thanks

NOTE: this is in the camera roll section.

if i try to take a video it shows up in the VIDEOS section album in the correct position (most recent taken) but still in the wrong place in camera roll.

EDIT:I figured out the problem. The date and time were changed by accident and time was turned back about 7 days in my phone. So the pictures were literally being sent back in the phones "time".
