Can one change an SSD to a HDD on a MacBook Pro retina?

I Want to upgrade my Macbook to a new retina MacBook, but the storage is way too small. I need at least 1TB and 128GB, 256 GB, or even 512GB is too small. Is it possible to have Apple change out the SSD for a 1TB HDD? I cannot find anything on the website to indicate that.

No. Apple will only install the options you see in the configuratin page for the MacBook. If its not an option there, they won't install it.

Also depending on the MacBook, some don't even have space or even a connector for a traditional SATA 1Tb drive.

The 2015 Macbook for instance, has a Welded in Toshiba SSD chip. That cannot be removed.

MacBook Pros with Retina use a PCIE SSD which so far is very difficult to come by in larger sizes.

Apple does however offer a 1TB SSD with their 15 inch Macbook Pros with Retina.

You can also get the non-Retina version with a 1Tb drive.
