To use standard 2.5" form then use SATA III PCIe controller

SATA II = 250MB/SEC

SATA III = 500MB/SEC

PCIE-SSD = 700-1500MB/SEC like SM951witj Lycom adapter

Go for cheap? Fast? But not for small and RAID0

Avoid OWC and theit controllers or Sndforce based SSDs

A blade does not use a controller, they use an adapter and both bootable and easy to use

The larger blades of 256 - 512 or more are faster

Of course any SSD will improve performance, and even a slow128GB is enough for basic boot drive

"trimforce" is part of 10.10.4
