How do I re-connect itunes videos that I uploaded to itunes?

How do I re-connect itunes videos that I uploaded to itunes? When I click on the movie to play it, I get the following popup "Video playback is not supported on this computer". The video file still exists. These are older videos. One way I've found is to move the video from itunes to my desktop. Next, I delete the file from my itunes library and then I move "Move to Recycle Bin". Next I move the file from my desktop by to itunes. I shows up in Home Movies and now plays perfectly. Question: I is there a "wholesale" way to re-connect these files all at once instead of the comberson way described?
