Curious. iTunes, the app, won't open. I upgraded to Yosemite a few months ago. I'm not sure if I've used the iTunes app in the interim. Just wondering why it won't open?

I understand that iTunes will not open on your Mac. Try reinstalling iTunes by downloading it directly from the first link below. If the issue persists, go through the troubleshooting steps in the second article.

Ooops. Nope. This is the second time I've re-installed iTunes app. Won't open. I have a six month old MacBook Pro loaded with everything. I use it all the time to produce films & music. No issues with any apps.
I'm drawing a blank.
I'm not sure if you've already figured it out or not. I was having the same problem after updating my iTunes to the newest version today. I finally found that updating OS X fixed the issue for me. Good luck!

Yes. You gave the solution. I thought Apple would be sending me little pop-ups about needed updates. Not. So I went and checked, and you are right, needed an update on the operating system. Which I did. iTunes now up and running fine.
