when i try to send mail from my ipad it sits in the outbox and when i press send a red astersik comes up

I have a 16GB 3G Ipad...Not sure, but think it is Ipad2. I have not had problems sending emails via bigpond until lately when i opend an account with Gmail. could this be the reason why I cannot send mail via bigpond ? Do I have to delete the Gmail account?

Try to go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars. Delete your bigpond mail account. Exit out, go back in and re-enter the information.

Sometimes things get messed up and the easiest way to fix it is to just start over.
