Trying to buy an app gift for a friend by my ID amount and I couldn't

Dear Apple community

I tried to buy a gift for my friend and I couldn't because he asks for payment method

( I have the money on my ID to buy it )

Please anyone could help me ?

You can't use your account's balance for gifting, that can only be used to buy content for yourself - you will need to add a payment method (e.g. credit card) to gift content
