Uninstalling/Reinstalling newer iTunes version

Hey there. Whenever updates for iTunes arrive, I also have predicament in installing the newer version. I end up uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it. I have tons of apps that I'm worried about being deleted if I uninstall/reinstall the newer version. Is it possible that I can keep all of them after doing such? Your answer matters.
