I Want to email photos from my IPad, as attachments to the recipients, but all I seem able to do is send a few photos that are embedded into the email, therefore they are not attachements, can some please advise what I need to do.

You are sending the photos correctly. They will still be received as attachments by those to whom you send the photos. You can't change how they are sent or received.
I have sent the same image from my iPhone 5S and my iPad - the iPhone will send it as an attachment, the iPad embeds it - I figure there must be a setting somewhere that I need to change on the Ipad, but can't find it ----HELP
