Q: How do I restore/change permissions for all files and folder

I was trying to unlock my time machine backup files by making folders available for sharing and allowing everyone to write&read. However it didn't really solve the problem that I decided to apply permissions to enclosed items.

Now I've even got another problem. Whenever I edit any file, I'm not allowed to save the changes. It says that "you don't have permission".  I  checked my permission by accessing "get info > sharing&permissions" and it said that "you have custom access" and my privilege was "read & write". I also already tried to repair disk permissions  (the Macintosh HD) using Disk Utility but it still didn't do anything..

You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this, boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type:  ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.
