Jul 5, 2015 8:19 AM in response to Hugo_Chanby EZ Jim,I have never tested CamMask, but it appears that simply dragging the iCon for this non-Apple app to your trash has not done a complete uninstall. Some apps uninstall this way, but others use different procedures.
I examined CamMask's website including their Support Page, but I could not find their proper uninstall instructions.
The most certain fix is for you to copy your question, paste it into CamMask's Contact form, and submit the question to them. The developer will able to provide authoritative instructions to correctly uninstall their product.
If you want to try something on your own before contacting the developer, here are some alternatives. One of them might restore proper system function:
(1) Reinstall OS X using the OS X Recovery instructions. Try Photo Booth again to see if the OS reinstall corrects your problem.
(2) Perform a Time Machine Restore of your system from the latest backup immediately before you first installed CamMask.
CAUTION: With this method, you will lose ALL changes made since that backup. Copy any that are important BEFORE doing the restore. You can then add them back to your startup disk after the restore is done.
(3) Reinstall CamMask and search its Help menu item to see if it tells you how to properly uninstall the app. If so, follow those instructions.
For possible benefit of other users, please let us know what works for you.

Jul 5, 2015 3:54 PM in response to EZ Jimby Hugo_Chan,Thanks, I have emailed Cam mask multiple times through direct email and there support page and i have not received any answers!
I sadly don't have a external hard drive so time machine is not available
But I will indeed be picking one up on the near future.
I have even tried to reinstall Cam mask and delete it different ways and i have not found any success.
Can you suggest any other ways of deleting it, apart from the regular trash and secure trash removal
Cheers
Hugo

Have you tried simply sending "I cannot find uninstall instructions. I have decided not to purchase CamMask Pro. How can I properly uninstall the free CamMask trial version?" to contact@cammask.com?
I could send the email, but if they will answer, it will be quicker for you than to wait me to do it for you and then post their reply.

Unless you only use your computer for games or other trivial applications, you MUST back up your important information.
If you can, make the "near future" NOW. Otherwise, consider one of the many available online backup solutions until you have other backup capability.

Two other ways:
(1) If you have nothing important on your Mac, you can fix the problem even before you have backup capability.
Follow the instructions for erase and install in Apple's OS X: How to erase and install. If you don't have any essential files, you can simply ignore the part about backing up essential files.
When your Mac has been restored, reinstall any additional software applications that you really need, but DON'T reinstall CamMask.
(2) If you have important files on your Mac that are not saved elsewhere, now is the time to acquire backup capability.
Take your Mac with you when you shop and ask the Apple retailer to show you how to backup the important files from your Mac before you leave the store.
If you can afford it, buy two external drives. Dedicate one to Time Machine and keep the other for backing up and moving files when needed (like the one you could use right now.) Bus-powered portable drives of 750MB---1TB like one of the models discussed here should do all you need, but your local retailer can help you decide what will work best for your needs.
Backup all important info and then erase and install your disk as explained in (1) above.
After you have corrected your CamMask problem and have restored all your important files, if you only bought one external portable drive, you can erase the new external disk and set it up as your new Time Machine drive using your Mac's > System Preferences... > Time Machine or the Time Machine Set Up instructions in this article. Otherwise, connect your Time Machine drive and make its first backup while you can keep the files you have already backed up on your extra drive until you are CERTAIN that you have Time Machine working properly.
NOTE: Depending on how much you have on your Mac's startup disk, It may take as long as overnight to make the first backup, so don't rush it.

Sep 17, 2015 9:25 AM in response to Hugo_Chanby Warcrafter,First remove the application as normal from your Applications folder, and then to remove CamMask Virtual Webcam completely, you need remove the following three files and then restart your computer.
/Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/CamMaskVideoDevice.plugin/Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/FCP-DAL/CamMaskVideoDevice.plugin
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.cammask.videodevice.daemon.plist
Hope this helps
