Cannot transfer iTunes songs

I followed the steps -but not working.

There are little clouds next to all my songs in iTunes still. If I try to play the songs in iTunes, then they download from scratch (even though the corresponding files have been transferred from hard drive as described above into the correct iTunes Media folder.

If I click on the file in Finder, the song plays in iTunes and the little cloud disappears.

However, I have 1000s of songs and it would take hours and hours to double click on each of them in finder to allow them to sync with iTunes??

Disappointed in my new macbook because of this =(
