iCloud Drive not syncing between Macs

The problem I am having is that I have files and folders uploaded to iCloud

from my iMac. Periodically new files and updates to files are made. When

checking via the web interface, the documents are in fact being loaded to iCloud.

However, I booted up my Macbook Pro (uses same AppleID for iCloud log in)

after not using it for a couple weeks and none of the changes get updated to

its copy of iCloud drive no matter how long I leave it up and running i.e. the iCloud

drive does not sync!!!!

Is there some setting somewhere that I am not finding to resolve this?

Or is this the way it is supposed to work, then it is a disaster!!!

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10), Thunderbolt display
