Upgrade OS on older iMac?
I have an old iMac that I want to upgrade the OS. It's running 10.5.8 on a core 2 Duo 2..4GHz processor. What's the best route to upgrade the OS?
Thanks
Mike

1. Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility.
2. Click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
3. If desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.

Thanks for the very comprehensive reply. I was mainly worried that Snow Leopard may not work, but happy to see that you concur. VERY Happy to see that application compatibility link you provided.
