Transfer rented movie from iMac to iPad

since downloading 12.2 I am not able to transfer 2 rented movies to my iPad2 from my iMac 10.10.4 using an approved, Apple supplied lightning cable - it's connected to the internet, authorized and was working fine before 12.2 itunes. the itunes sates below the two dialogue boxes where transfers normally are selected, that it must be "connected to the internet" which the iMac is via a hardwire connection, as well as the iPad2 via wireless and I can connect to the itunes store. I have rebooted, unplugged, restarted, all sorts of variations....

Getting ready to board a plane for 8 hrs and this is really a disappointment for a loyal Apple customer.
