HI,
A folder with lots of vacation photo's is gone missing from my iCloud drive. I cannot remember deleting that folder and deleting it should be very weird (because those were precious photo's). The whole reason we put those photo's on iCloud was not risking losing them.
Is it possible to retrieve those photo's from Apple's servers or are they gone forever?
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
Do you have a computer backup you could restore them from? Ate they in the Photos application?

unfortunately there is no backup as we where on vacation and we wanted to store the photo's safely to iCloud.
The images are not in the photos application either.
Have you tried icloud.com in the settings as I'm noticing a recover documents feature in the advanced area. that may get your files back.
Me too lost all vital data stored under iCloud drive. The folders are intact, but the files in ALL the folders vanished. All folders are EMPTY. I am seriously wondering if storing data on iCloud is really safe and secure?. Google Drive appears to be more reliable in this regard
Thanks for the tip Luvinmc! I found the feature, but it only showed a lot of deleted iWorks preview files. Maybe our vacation photos where deleted longer ago.

Wwhat exactly do you mean when you say iCloud Drive, the photos app doesn't actually store photos in the iCloud Drive area as you see it.
The iCloud drive I am talking about, is the one you find in the finder called "iCloud Drive". I uploaded all the images there and they were synced with the cloud. And now they are gone.
I wonder if any of those photos might have gotten uploaded to the photo library by iCloud. If so I know they have a recently deleted folder on iphone in Photos to see if they can be brought back. Maybe even local trash or Pictures folder but Im sure you already tried that.
Yeah, sorry the recovery of recover documents didn't get the photos back.
Could you be mistaken, anything copied to the iCloud Drive is both duplicated to each Mac and hence backed up with every Mac back up and preserved for 30 days after deletion on iCloud.com, it seems rather doubtful they and all the duplicates and back ups would just disappear.
Unfortunately there were no other macs the folder was synced to. We were on vacation and the MacBook we used was the only one running. The vacation is also a little more than 30 days ago. I checked Time Machine on the iCloud folder, but to no avail.
I think we probably made a mistake and deleted the folder and there are no backups or other ways to retrieve them.
