My iTunes icon has gone white and will not open

Hi

My iTunes app on my MacBook Pro was working perfectly yesterday. I was going to start it today but when I clicked it the icon changed (inner circle now white) and does nothing. When I right click to try and Force Quit, the open options that come up are - Options, Show recents and Open.

The app does not open and displays no error message - unresponsive.

I have restarted my comp, shut down then turned on again as well. Nothing.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
