Work on a iMovie Project on both iPhone 6 and Macbook Pro

I am unable to start a iMovie project on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8), export it to iCloud Drive, and open it/continue to edit it on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) (OS X 10.10.04) iMove 10.0.9

When I 'share' the project from my iPhone to iCloud Drive it appears to be doing something; however when I go to work on the project on my Macbook Pro, 1 of 2 things happens.

1. I can't locate the project file/s on my Macbook Pro in the iCloud Drive_iMovie folder

or

2. I can locate the project file/s but when I click to open them I get the following error message

"The document “My Movie 1.iMovieMobile” could not be opened. The file isn’t in the correct format.

The file might be corrupted, truncated, or in an unexpected format."

Anybody able to get this feature to work?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
