How Do I search for specific artists in apple music

I have read several posts where people have had this issue (usually on a Mac, not so much on iOS devices), but for the life of me - unless I am very lucky - I have not had this problem. Just typing an artist's name is the search box generally brings up a drop down menu - the top has a choice to select My Music or Apple Music - and then generally a listing of artists with that or similar names. Clicking on the artists name brings up another screen - and depending on what that artist/label has made available on Apple Music, it will list the artist as an "artist", perhaps a radio station, songs, albums and sometimes playlists.

Are you sure that you have Apple Music checked in the iTunes Preferences?

Every time I try to look up an artist by choosing "Apple Music" in the search field I only get the artist's radio station in the results .does it really need to be so difficult to simply find an artist so I can att their tracks to my library? :/
