is there a limit to the number of items that can be bookmarked?

The last day or so, when we "add a bookmark" it doesn't appear in the bookmark list and we cannot find it anywhere. So, since we have a lot of bookmarks, we were wondering if there is a limit to the number of items that can be listed and that is why new items are not being added.

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier

Bookmarks can be stored or arranged in multiple locations (the Bookmarks menu, various folders, etc). If you are using the most recent version of Safari and you are unable to find bookmarks that you have added, you may want to try using the Search function (as noted below) and see if they may have been added to an unexpected location:



Search for a bookmark:

Enter text in the search field at the top of the sidebar. You may have to scroll up to reveal the search field.
