No Longer Able To Purchase Content From Apple Store?

I was reading on Wikipedia that Apple TV owners can no longer purchase Apple Store content from the Apple TV device. Is this true? I used to purchase television episodes via my Apple TV, but haven't done so lately, so unaware of this change if true.
