Battery problem on iPod touch 5g?

hi everyone, i have an itouch5g and i think that it has a problem with the battery, it lasts like 5 hours at web browsing, with iOS 8 i think its normal, bit my problem is when the iPod reaches the 40% of battery, it starts to drain faster until it reaches 20% , then it starts a normal draining but here comes The other problem, i think that the ipod turns off before reaching 0% , this is beacause i never get the 10% battery notification and also I use an app to see how is the battery percentage (i know is useless but i use it like a reference) and the last percentage i see before the iPod turns off is 12% so with this i can say that it turns off before reaching 0%

i have had this problem since the first day i bought the iPod, i don't know if it is normal or i should take it to a genius bar.

thanks

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 8.3

The battery indicator is not that accurate.

You can try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
