Cannot recover my Ipad after rester - wrong ID????
iPad 2, iOS 8.4
Is that your Apple ID being shown at the top?
Did you purchase this iPad used? It appears it is looking for a gmail address that begins with 'Y". Does that look familiar to you. If not, then it is the ID of the former owner if this is a used device. If it is your ID, did you ever change your password?
It looks as if you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owner's or user's Apple ID and password. You have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. No must use the original Apple ID and password to use the device. Or you must sign in with that Apple ID and password at icloud.com and remove the ipad from the original Apple ID. If you cannot do this you will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.
This is my iPad, Im the original owner.
Im the original owner and the yxxxxxxxx@gmail.com is my account...
I can log into my apple ID account using this email (the yxxxxxxxx@gmail.com) but it will not let me recover the unit...its so frustrating.
Then you must be typing something in wrong. Are you able to log into the iTunes store with that Apple ID? If so, is it possible that since you activated that device that you changed the password on that Apple ID? If so, that would make a difference. If you cannot remember the old ID, you may have to take the device and your original receipt to a physical Apple Store for help.
Im typing everything perfect. tried multiply times.
Have no problems to log into my apple ID account and/or to iTune store
I did changed password about a year ago, but I tried both new and old passowrd (only the new work on my PC anyway)
Problem is that in order to go to the apple store I need to drive 30-40 minutes each direction just in order to find out that they cannot serve me right now and I need to set an appointment, so its another few hours, again...
Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.
