Congratulations on your purchase of the new iPad. There are a number of ways you can choose to get your pictures from your iPhone to it. If you have an iCloud account with photos enabled on it you can sign into that account with the new device and the photos will come right over. See this article about iCloud Photo Library -
If you do not have an iCloud account you can get one using the steps in this article -

Note that an iCloud account with 5GB of storage is free.
If you prefer not to use an iCloud account, with a lot of pictures you will find it easiest to sync the pictures from the iPhone to a computer and then from the computer to the iPad, both using iTunes. See this article -
