Trouble with AHT

I can't for the life of me figure out how to launch Apple Hardware Test. I'm using a late 2006 CD Core 2 Duo iMac. I got it with Snow Leopard installed and it is now running Lion. I no longer have the original installation discs, and I have tried holding down the D key as the machine boots up.
