verticle lines when I power up!?

I shut down my macbook air yesterday night and went to turn it on this morning, when a grey screen came up with chimes and verticle lines.. I can movie the mouse and one of the lines move. I haven't dropped the laptop, and there isn't any damage on the screen whatsoever.

just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if so how did you resolve it?
