On safari, I keep on getting in-text popup ads on websites from a site called infolinks.com. Please help remove!

I'm sorry, but both those solutions don't work on my iPod touch. Those solutions are for Macs and OSX, not iPods and iOS
Tap Settings > Safari then scroll down and tap: Clear History and Website Data
Then restart your iPod.
BTW, there is an app that may help prevent ads on Safari in the future > AdBlock Browser for iDevices - The leading AdBlock mobile app since 2012 on the App Store on iTunes
I believe there might be malware on my iPod. Is there any way to remove?

I'm thinking of storing my in-app data online and just resetting my iPod.
Go to Settings>Safari and disable Javascript.
However, many site require Javascript to satisfactory work
Your iPod is not infected with malware unless you have jailbroken it, or otherwise done something to install apps from outside the App Store. If you have done this, then you will need to reset the iPod to factory settings, without restoring anything from backup.
One possibility that seems likely from your description is that the network your iPod is on has been compromised. See:
