Whether I can Upgrade to iOS8 for my Iphone 4S. it will be ok. how about the performences??

I am going to upgrade my Iphone 4s to iOS8, what will be the performances, the same? or it will not fit. kindly suggest me. Currently I am in iOS 7.1.2
