iPhone switch to ipod? Please help 🙏🏻

I really want to know if it would be possible to switch my current iPhone into an iPod ? Meaning that I wouldn't be able to call on it but that I would be able to connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi Also if it is possible could I use an app such as what's up to text when on Wi-Fi ? I've been Trying to find the answer for hours now and I don't know what else to do if you could please take the time to help me I would greatly appreciate it
