My mac book won't allow me to backup a different iPhone with a separate apple id on iTunes. Does this mean you can only backup one device per computer?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

You can backup more than one device to t sings log on one computer.

What exactly happens when you try?

Does iTunes see the iPod?

For newer iOSs you have to Trust the computer
