Export photos from iPad

I try to export my photos from my old iPad (1st generation) to my Mac or iCloud. I can't find a way.

iPad, iOS 5.1.1

I already found the articles and it didn't help.

My iPad is connected to my Mac that does see it. When I go in "Photo" and I select "Import" from "my iPad", it says : no photo... I have many hundreds of photos in my iPad and I can see them on my iPad screen !!! But they are old photos (from 2007 to 2010)... I want to do projects with these old (and precious) pictures but i can't...
