Connecting a macbook pro to canon printer?

I am trying to connect my macbook pro to a Canon MX922 printer wirelessly. I have gone through all the troubleshooting and I do have both the computer and the printer connected to my router, but my computer will not recognize my printer? I have been able to connect it through a USB and it works fine, but there should be a way to connect them wirelessly, any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,

Sadee
