I can't stream all of my iTunes on appleTV
I find that home sharing only lists some of my photos. Photos obtained from friends and family from say iCloud are not listed, so the only way to display these are on my iMac

Welcome to the Apple community.
If you mean photos from shared albums, you can't see these photos via home sharing, you will have to use 'Photos' instead of 'Computers'.
