I updated iTunes today and it's been maybe 5 hours so far. Can't sync my iPod or iPad anymore. On music it just randomly craps out after a few songs and says "iTunes could not copy "insert some random song title here" to the iPad "iPad" because the file could not be read. It's not on any specific song, it's just on any random song, almost immediately when it tries to sync music. I can't figure out what's wrong, it's stupid, what do I do?

Check your media source drive for errors.
If the source drive is an externally connected USB drive try using different a bank of ports for your device.
Don't use a USB hub.
Exclude the iTunes folder from any real-time anti-virus scanner.

I reinstalled and restarted the computer and FINALLY it seems to be cooperating. Sorry to waste time. I just don't get why anything else I did fixed the problem...hopefully it doesn't come back. I've never had luck with iTunes syncing.
Actually no, the iPad is still not cooperating with me. All music is on an internal drive, I don't even have virus scans turned on, iPad plugged straight into the back of the computer.
See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy. Backup the library to an external drive. If there are any issues with the source files the process would reveal it.
