setting one cookie on Safari creates two cookies

Good day.

I have very simple code that creates a cookie when a user signs in and then brings up another page. I have noticed that the latest version of Safari on Yosemite (Version 8.0.7 (10600.7.12)) that two cookies get created.

The sign in page is at the root level and then the re-directed page is in a sub-directory "/webapp". My normal cookie has a path of "/" where the second cookie has the path of "/webapp". The page in the "/webapp" directory that the user goes to does not have any set cookie code.

I checked other browsers and only one cookie is being set with the path of "/path".

This was not happening until the latest OS update.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
