iphoto not connecting with camera.

my cameras both display "communication error" on the LCS screen when trying to connect to my imac OSX 10.6.8/ 3.06 Ghz Core 2 Duo.

I have two Canon Powershots: SD800 IS (worked fine a month ago and a newer A4000is HD. Both camera's seem to work well taking and storing photos.

Turned off the Firewall and App Blocking software and still can't connect.

Advice??

Tom,

Please consider using a card reader instead of connecting the cameras to the computer.
