Since the upgrade of my iphone 6 I cannot play my downloaded tunes without internet connection

i have an iphone 6 onto which I had downoaded about 6000 tunes. Since the last upgrade I see the library butt cannot play them without internet connection. how could I revert to the previous situation. It is a very silly "enhancement" as users do not have internet connection everywhere.
