facebook on iPad air2 painfully slow

SInce this past weekend, Facebook has been not working right on my iPad, very slow and stalls. All other apps on the iPad are fine and work normally. Wifi not an issue since safari and other internet dependent apps work fast and as normal. Even facebook messenger is fine. I upgraded the iPad system software and that didn't fix it either. I also tried reinstalling the Facebook app and soft reset of the iPad. Any ideas?
